"Texas," George Franklin Cram, Chicago, 1893. (Image: 11 3/4" high x 17" wide). This beautiful, patriotic red, blue and black map is an original relief line engraving which depicts railroad lines throughout the state in 1893, with each railway station noted along the route. This map has a "Scale of Miles" with 1" equaling 50 miles. Inset of the Pan Handle with Greer County as still part of Texas. Each county is outlined in red and the state is outlined in dark sky blue. Good, medium-weight paper. The condition of the map is excellent. It has light, even age toning to the paper. The map looks exactly like what it is: a 100+ year old antique. It is also a beautiful work of art and a valuable, non-depreciating investment. Anyone with an interest in Texas history or heritage would love to own this map. Matted, it would make a wonderful, inexpensive gift.
